| Villa Details : | These superb luxury villas in Morocco are located just outside the walls of Marrakech and together form one of the country’s most luxurious retreats. Described by locals as Mille et une Nuit, as romantic as the fabled Arabian Nights, Dar Liqama is praised for its respect for traditional architecture and colours. The layout of both houses has been inspired by the traditional riads of Morocco with open courtyards, elegant archways, grand columns and opulent textiles recurring throughout. Materials traditionally used in Moroccan architecture such as stone, plaster, wood and brass, characterise the décor, as too do the rich and earthy tones that have been employed to create a warm and sumptuous space. Wander around the four acres of lush lawns and walled gardens that surround Dar Liqama and Dar Louisa and breathe in the fresh air, fragrant with the scent of orange, lemon and apricot trees. It’s easy to find a shady spot in the grounds with a string of courtyards, canopied alcoves and tented terraces all offering refuge on a hot day. Dar Liqama is the place to escape the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life with nothing but the sound of trickling water from a nearby fountain to disturb the tranquillity. Guests can stay at Dar Liqama and choose from one of its eight bedrooms, or Dar Louisa, which has five bedrooms. The large houses share the grounds and each has its own heated swimming pool with poolside terraces for guests to enjoy. A copious staff provides a friendly and discreet service, offering drinks and refreshments all day such as Mint Tea, after which the main house takes its name. Elsewhere, concealed in the leafy grounds, exists an opulent Hammam (steam bath), tennis court, exercise spa and games room, all of which are at the guests’ disposal. Dar Liqama is a place of beauty and serenity, offering a respite for travellers.
